It was a small job in comparison to what we have seen on their web page. Joe treated me as if I was his best customer. The closet is better than I imagined it could have turned out. My husband and I just built a new home in Bergen County, NJ. We had the pleasure of working with Joe on past projects, so selecting him to design and install all the cabinetry in our new home was easy! First, let me say that Joe is a pleasure to work with! He understands design and space and how to make the most of each room. 

On this project Joe designed and installed my dream kitchen. It is functional, beautiful and elegant. I wake up everyday so happy with this space. It is a focal point of our home. Joe Salerno transformed our 1970ish Formica kitchen into one that’s functional, inviting and elegant. I love to cook in it, and the family and our guests are enjoying the beauty of the space. 

Joe Salerno has wonderful vision and design concepts. He has impeccable taste. He is practical and respectful of a budget. He is so creative and has a wealth of technical knowledge. When you work with Joe Salerno, you get personal attention as well as timely and prompt responses. This kitchen renovation was not an easy job because of its unique octagonal floor plan. The cabinets’ measurements had to be precise, and they were because the installation was completed without a hitch. Joe provided detail drawings of the moldings and paneling for the octagonal dome ceiling. My husband and I could not visualize what the final product would look like; ultimately, we relied on our trust in Joe and proceeded with the job. The result is breathtaking. When you work with Joe Salerno, you just know he has your interests at heart. He guided us throughout the entire process, from planning, to the estimate, to execution and completion. We followed his lead, and completed the job on schedule, and without the usual frustrations that accompany construction. We are very pleased to have hired Joe Salerno for this HUGE project!! He is so hardworking and a delight to work with. No problem is ever insurmountable for Joe. He is a master in kitchen and bath designs.

We just finished our Master Bath/Bedroom/Closet project, and we can't say enough about Joe and his team of professionals! We wanted someone who could coordinate the entire project so it worked seamlessly for us. Since our spaces were interconnected, we really wanted to have a plan that incorporated the entire project so we would know, in advance, that all of the space was maximized for our use. From the moment we met Joe, we knew he was our guy. When we were ready, Joe had all of his people lined up, we moved through each stage seamlessly, and questions were addressed promptly, professionally and without delay. Bottom line, Joe listened, he was patient, he guided us appropriately, and in the end, we got exactly what we wanted and needed. This was not our first renovation, but it was definitely one of the smoothest and we will recommend Joe with enthusiasm!

We worked with Joe Salerno to completely gut and remodel our kitchen, butler pantry, and master bathroom. Besides designing our cabinetry, Joe acted as our contractor re-designing all the aforementioned spaces. He is fantastic-- honest, meticulous, detail-oriented, thoughtful, and creative. He conceived the layouts and assisted us with every last detail-- even childproofing our kitchen with hidden magnet locks. His contractors did impeccable work and were proactive to suggest when something additional was helpful-- in our case, chains to prevent cabinets from opening too far into our hood. Our custom kitchen truly exceeded our expectations. We would hire Joe again in a heartbeat.

Joe Salerno, owner and designer, is the consummate professional. We completely renovated our kitchen and two full bathrooms and Joe spent many hours working with us over a period of six months to design and execute on our plans. His background in engineering informs his design work and he listened carefully to really collaborate with us on maximizing the functionality of our space. His attention to detail is impeccable and he patiently explained the renovation process through every phase. We had some tricky space constraints but every single appliance fit perfectly within the beautiful cabinetry thanks to his meticulous drawings. When we couldn't decide on a color for our cabinets, he special ordered multiple samples so that we could select precisely the shade we wanted. His recommendations to us from contractors to vendors for appliances, plumbing fixtures, countertops, stone and tile are testament to his ability to work well with others because everyone met their deadlines. He also passed along his substantial vendor discounts for plumbing fixtures. We love our new kitchen and bathrooms and Joe was a pleasure to work with. We give him the highest recommendation.

Joe Salerno was recommended to us by our contractor. We have a 2,400 sq ft basement that was mostly unfinished. Joe designed the space perfectly including a gym, art room, custom storage area, living area, kitchen with an island, wine room and still enough room for a ping pong / pool table. Joe's advice beforehand, budgeting and execution of the project, and keeping us informed along the way were all outstanding - and we love our basement. 

We proceeded to have Joe help us design a bar area on our main floor. The quality of the work, the design and the teamwork between Joe, the contractor and the designers made this project very smooth. Both the basement and the bar area were not easy spaces to work with, but Joe's layout and design were excellent - we especially love the leather cabinet doors and the stone front of our bar and all of the custom cabinets in the basement including a sliding partition between two rooms. It is exactly what we wanted. There were no surprises after we agreed on the price of the work.

Even after the job was done Joe called us to make sure we were happy with everything and invited us to call him if we had any questions. We highly recommend Joe Salerno.

We were looking for someone to make a bathroom vanity for our bathroom renovation, and we got so much more with Joe Salerno at Ribbon & Reed. Joe designed the perfect bathroom layout for us and was involved in every step of our project. He gave us incredible assistance on the choices we made and also invaluable suggestions, where we were unsure. And on top of everything else, the cabinet quality and design that he gave us is absolutely top drawer! We chose a hickory wood that has such beautiful movement and works perfectly in the space. I cannot thank him enough for such hands-on attention and care. Our experience with him couldn't have been any better and we are so pleased with not only our vanity, but our whole bathroom.

We would highly recommend Joe Salerno to design and install your dream kitchen. After making the decision to completely renovate our kitchen, we spent 2 months in utter confusion looking for a kitchen designer. Then, on a chance call and a visit to Ribbon & Reed, Joe Salerno showed us on his computer his ideas and immediately our project got back on track. He explained the difference between framed and frameless cabinets, European design, door overlays and types of cabinetry. On one visit, we were privileged to meet his Dad, who as an immigrant from Italy was a cabinetry maker. What really impressed us is that Joe always treated us as personal customers. He always promptly returned our calls, answered our questions and always showed the utmost in professionalism. This project began with a complete gut of the kitchen and family room. The wall between the two rooms was removed to create an open area. Joe Salerno of Ribbon & Reed worked with the architect and me to design a new kitchen that would be more spacious and functional. The kitchen area was moved into the original family room area by three feet. Joe Salerno was incredible in his never failing attempts to create the perfect kitchen for me. He guided me through the kitchen design, cabinet style, color, choice of counter top and backsplash. Joe was frequently on site and managed every step of the project. Ribbon & Reed Cabinetry designed, delivered and installed our new kitchen! We were working through our contractor and his kicthen supplier, when we fell upon Ribbon & Reed and what a difference this meeting made to our project. They are the definition of quality with how they partner with you throughout a somewhat overwelming process. GC's push for decisions and are more focused on their schedule then yours. R&R lays out timelines and priorities as to give you the maximum time to pick colors, finishes, flooring, lighting, etc. In addition, they work with all the trades to make sure the schedule is managed and delivered against. The task can be overwelming when working with a GC, Ribbon & Reed made a once in a lifetime project (new kitchen) an enjoyable and memorable one.

Ribbon & Reed is an owner operated cabinetry contractor. Joe Salerno is the owner. Joe s extremely hands on, very reliable, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and accessible. My master bath had to be renovated because of water damage. Joe came on the recommendation of a friend who had also employed Ribbon & Reed for her kitchen and then master bath. From start to finish, Joe provided daily briefings on who was coming and what was happening on a given day and beyond. My job stretched over THanksgiving and the holidays. When work stopped because the family needed a break, Joe respectfully planned the restart date. He ALWAYS answered questions patiently. When there was a concern about cost, he always provided alternatives with the understanding that cost matters. And where there was room to save, and not spend, he would speak up. He's been in business for a long time and obviously has good relations with his subs because THEY were always responsive. I'm very particular.
